California Department of Pesticide Regulation Pesticide Use Reporting (PUR)

The Pesticide Management Education Program (PMEP) at Cornell University, in conjunction with the New York State Department of Environnmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), has developed a pesticide sales and use reporting (PSUR) database per the New York State Pesticide Reporting Law of 1996 (select 'ENV' on law page). As an enhancement to the PSUR database, this application converts the annually reported pesticide product information (volume and weight) into 'pounds of active ingredient' and allows for pesticide active ingredient searches similar to the product searches reported elsewhere on this website. The data in these searches and the application technology are continuously reviewed and updated and individual report totals and active ingredient summaries may change over time. The data summarizes the information received regarding pesticide sales and usage as reported to NYSDEC by the regulated community. NYSDEC cannot attest to the accuracy of the information contained in these data summaries.

Prepared Usage Reports by Pesticide Type (Statewide)

Prepared Reports

The prepared, static reports represent some of the major pesticide active ingredient types that are contained in those pesticide products reported by the regulated community per the New York State Pesticide Reporting Law of 1996. Some of the active ingredients can appear as more than one type (i.e. thiram is a fungicide and an animal repellent).

The data in these searches are based on commercial permit holders who sell or offer for sale, restricted use pesticides and and those who sell general use pesticides intended for agricultural crop production. The data have been collected from source searches filed by businesses that hold valid New York State commercial pesticide sales permits.

The data in these searches are based on sales of restricted use pesticides to individuals with a valid commercial applicator certification, including those that posses a purchase permit and business with commercial pesticide sales permits. The resale report reflects sales to commercial permit holders that intend to resell the pesticide product. Since products may be sold multiple times, the quantities in the resale report may reflect duplicate sales of the same pesticide product(s)
